The 200 hour yoga teacher training in Rishikesh course will train you to start teaching with confidence, helping others learn about yoga, through your own experience and voice. Also, it is an opportunity for all. Our popular 200-hour yoga teacher training program is designed to provide the basic foundation for yoga practice and teaching. We accept all experience levels, as we believe that yoga is a practice that can be taught and practiced by all people. The curriculum includes yogic history, philosophy, and practices presented at a basic level for general understanding. The course includes in-class hours, self-study, verbal tests, and teaching practicum.

200 hour yoga ttcDuring this course, the student will learn the basics of yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra will be discussed and referred to as the foundation philosophical and guiding text of this course. We will discuss the anatomy of the body as it relates to yoga so that students can understand what muscles are being used in each asana and how they can help their future students. Students will learn about the business of yoga as well. Teaching methodology will be discussed and students will learn how to observe others bodies in order to gently correct their postures. We will also learn about subtle energy anatomy including chakras, nadis, and kundalini.


Students will learn how to sequence a yoga class, ethical guidelines for yoga teachers, and how to be an effective yoga teacher. We will also discuss and practice Bandhas (Binds), Mudras (Yogic Gestures), Kriyas (cleansing techniques), and Mantra Chanting.

Chandra Yoga International's Yoga Teacher Training students are trained in these disciplines as a part of their teacher training and can use this knowledge to further their personal practice and teaching practice. In the teaching we give reference to the SANSKRIT names of the Asanas, introducing the intention behind the meaning and how to bring it into the posture.

Our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program is built on the basis of Hatha and Ashtanga yoga. While Ashtanga yoga has much to teach students and forms the backbone of our program, it is also important to be highly flexible when it comes to teaching yoga, in order to adapt classes to the needs of individual students. That’s why we encourage our students to develop their own Vinyasa Flow classes, and consider all possible approaches to teaching yoga, to inspire them to follow their passion for yoga in any and all circumstances.
