Dr. Sushil Yogi
(Patanjali Ashtanga Yoga, Traditional Hatha Yoga, Pranayama-Meditation Teacher)
Dr. Sushil Yogi is a highly experienced and educated yoga practitioner who loves to share his knowledge with others. He is the founder and Lead Trainer of Chandra Yoga International. A native of India, Dr. Sushil was born and raised in Haridwar, along with the banks of the sacred Ganges River. Yoga has been a part of his life from a very young age, as it was studied in his very traditional primary education of Gurukulam. Gurukulum (children’s school) is based on an Indian tradition of education which puts emphasis on ancient scriptures such as the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Geeta and Yoga Sutra, as well as Sanskrit Literature. Every day, the young students are taught to meditate, practice yoga, and participate in traditional fire ceremonies (Yagya). While other peers decided to go on to pursue other career paths, Dr. Sushil’s love of yoga persisted, and he continued on with his Yogic Studies at the University level.
Dr. Sushil’s credentials include a Ph.D. (Doctorate) in yoga philosophy, 2 year Master’s Degree in Human Consciousness and Yoga Science (M.Sc.), a one year Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga, a one year Diploma in Vedic Karmkand (Vedic rituals) and a 3 year Bachelor Degree in Science from Gurukul Kangri University, in Haridwar, India.Additionally, he joined many national and international seminars, conferences and published 2 research books.
Learning the traditional art of yoga and meditation with great Himalayan masters such as Swami Ramdevji, Swami Ved Bharti Ji, Dr. Ishwar Bhardwaj Ji, Dr. Surakshit Goswamiji and other western teachers inspired Dr. Sushil to continue to spread the joy of yoga to others. He began teaching yoga in 2003 to private clients. In 2006, he began facilitating yoga retreats and workshops in the USA, UK, Europe, Asia, and Japan. After returning to India in 2013, he felt the need to bring his knowledge to the many aspiring spiritual seekers who visit India each year and began the yoga teacher training program.
Students appreciate his unique style of yoga asana teaching, which is filled with uplifting energy, fusing yogic and modern science knowledge with his genuine loving nature and sense of humor. Dr. Sushil’s favorite subject to teach is Meditation and Pranayama, and he spends time outside of classes discussing the practice of meditation with students interested in learning more about it. His teaching blends the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali with Chakra-based philosophy, describing how we can eliminate suffering in our lives and cope with the human condition. His unique teaching style brings the ancient practices of yoga into a modern perspective, providing techniques for students to practice traditional Indian yoga in a way that is applicable to their lives today.

Sandy Lee empowers people to love themselves and the lives they lead. Her open heart manages to bring balance and peace to any kind of practice. In her classes, you can expect mindful concentration on awareness, breath, relaxation, and enjoyment of the senses.
Originally from the US, Sandy started practicing yoga asana over 15 years ago as a way to heal depression. She credits her first teacher, Eric Read, for inspiring her to lead a life as a yogini, taking her health back into her own hands. After several varied but unfulfilled years in corporate America, a job in social work brought Sandy to India in 2009, where she fell in love with the culture. On returning to the US, Sandy began leading asana classes, as well as providing therapeutic assistance with sensory deprivation tanks. In 2014 her two passions collided when she decided to further her yogic education and practice in India: first in classical Hatha with Chandra Yoga and subsequently in the Ashtanga primary series with Universal Yoga. Since then she has taught many Yoga Teacher Training Courses in India and has also shared her knowledge of yoga in Laos.
In addition to a yogic lifestyle, Sandy is currently learning Hindi (and Lao languages) and enjoys an occasional solo hike in the Himalayas. She’s also never adverse to a mindful mouthful of chocolate!

Rachel was first exposed to yoga while she attended university and utilized it as a way to cope with the stress of her academic load. After graduating with her Bachelor of Arts in Art Therapy, she became busy with her career as a recreation therapist and artist, and her yoga practice became secondary. It did not take long for her to realize that in order to find peace, her priorities needed to shift. A lover of travel, she decided to rethink things and take a journey to India and complete her 200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training with Chandra Yoga. The TTC was life changing for her, as she finally had the opportunity to devote herself to the practice and understand its application to her life. She has been working with Chandra Yoga since 2013, which included some time to teach asana in the USA. She delights in welcoming the new students to each TTC and loves to see the community that is built each course with students attending from all over the world.
She hopes to bring the life-changing benefits of yoga to those who feel they are not “flexible enough” or hold any other limiting beliefs about themselves. Her style of teaching emphasizes the use of mindfulness as a technique for carrying your asana practice into your everyday life. For her, asana is a moving meditation and a place to find peace amidst the chaos of life. Yoga for her is both humbling and empowering, and she hopes that she is able to use her life as a testimony to the peace that yoga brings.
