Our Yoga Center is located in one of the most well-known spiritual towns in all of India. Located at the base of the Himalayan mountains, snuggled along the banks of the sacred Ganges River, Rishikesh is frequented by spiritual pilgrims from all over the World. An incredible place to experience classical Indian yoga, Rishikesh is a bit calmer than other parts of India. As a pilgrimage point, Rishikesh greets many devout Hindus and wandering sadhus (Holy men), as well as spiritual seekers from many different countries.

Our school is located in the Tapovan area of Rishikesh, just a short walk up from the Laxman Jhula Bridge. Tapovan has a few small shops and a healthy, vegetarian, restaurants for you to enjoy during your downtime. At these stores just up the road, you may purchase any goods you may need upon your arrivals like toiletries, additional snack food, and items of daily need. A short walk down the hill will take you to the beautiful Laxman Jhula Bridge area.
About Laxman Jhula Market
Those who love shopping can head to the world-renowned market of Laxman Jhula. This is one of the most happening places to be for shopping lovers. This market is a residence with small shops, many stalls selling the best of products. These shops attract many items include genuine rudrakshas, beautiful idols of Gods and Goddesses, local jewelry, silver jewelry, and ultimate wooden items
There are many restaurants and shops for you to purchase gifts, traditional Indian garb, books, meals, yoga supplies, and authentic cuisines from a variety of cultures. The town of Rishikesh is completely meat and alcohol-free, so it is an ideal place for spiritual practice as the town as elevated energy. Watch the sunset over the serene Ganges River from one of the small cafés that dot the river line, as the distant sound of evening mantras from nearby temples and the smell of Nag Champa incense fill the air.
About Yoga Teacher Training School in Rishikesh (Building and Yoga Hall):
All classes and meals will be held at our yoga center. The top floor of the yoga center in the home to the open and spacious yoga shala (hall for practice), full windows to allow the morning sunlight to filter in and provide spectacular views of Rishikesh during asana and meditation practice. Mats, blankets, blocks, and straps are all equipped to offer you support in your asana and meditation poses.
The floor below the yoga hall houses the kitchen and dining area with plenty of room for you to get comfortable during meal times. There is also a small balcony off of the kitchen if you would prefer to eat outside during meals. We serve delicious and nutritious vegetarian meals three times per day. We also provide decaffeinated, ayurvedic, yogi tea after meditation each morning and after some meals to give the students time to get to know each other. If you have any specific dietary requests, we would be happy to discuss those with you.
Yoga Teacher Training Students Accommodation
Student rooms are located just outside our yoga center in other school’s building. All rooms are single with attached private bathrooms. If you would like to share a room with another student, let us know! We would be happy to offer you a discount on this arrangement. You will be well taken care of and comfortable during your stay with us here at Chandra Yoga! Your hosts like to share what they have, so if you need a specific thing, tool, fire pot, paint, or clay, do ask. You will have quite some time for yourself to rest. You are welcome to bring your books, movies, or music.
On the last day of the course, we will have the closing “Havan” or “fire ceremony” where certificates will be distributed. A special halwa or Prashad (sweet) will be offered to students as we celebrate your accomplishment together. The chance to meet so many like-minded people from all over the world in one location is not something that comes along very often in one’s lifetime. Most students who have left our course are not ready to move to the conclusion of 4 weeks! It’s honestly an experience like no other, and we invite you to join us in Rishikesh.
