The 200 hrs yoga teacher training will train you to start teaching with confidence, helping others learn about yoga, through your own experience and voice. Also, it is an opportunity for all. Our popular 200-hour yoga teacher training program is designed to provide the basic foundation for yoga practice and teaching. We accept all experience levels, as we believe that yoga is a practice that can be taught and practiced by all people. The curriculum includes yogic history, philosophy, and practices presented at a basic level for general understanding. The course includes in-class hours, self-study, verbal tests, and teaching practicum.

200 hour yoga in rishikesh

During this course, the student will learn the basics of yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra will be discussed and referred to as the foundation philosophical and guiding text of this course. We will discuss the anatomy of the body as it relates to yoga so that students can understand what muscles are being used in each asana and how they can help their future students. Students will learn about the business of yoga as well. Teaching methodology will be discussed and students will learn how to observe others bodies in order to gently correct their postures. We will also learn about subtle energy anatomy including chakras, nadis, and kundalini.

200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh

Students will learn how to sequence a yoga class, ethical guidelines for yoga teachers, and how to be an effective yoga teacher. We will also discuss and practice Bandhas (Binds), Mudras (Yogic Gestures), Kriyas (cleansing techniques), and Mantra Chanting.

200 hours YTTC

This program is a 4 week Yoga residential course and all classes are held on site. Upon completion of the program, the participant will be eligible to apply as a 200 Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. These credentials set the candidate high above the rest, as there is a specific curriculum which must be adhered to, creating the most well-rounded and prepared yoga teachers available.

If you are looking for a Yoga Teacher Training School in India, you will notice that there are thousands to choose from. One thing that you will want to consider is whether or not the school is Yoga Alliance certified. The Yoga Alliance is an organization that determines which schools meet a strict criterion that meets their standards. Their standards include an hourly breakdown of time spent on topics such as Teaching Methodology, Training and Practice, Anatomy & Physiology, Yoga Philosophy, Ethics for Yoga teachers, and Lifestyle of a Yoga Teacher. Additionally, Practicum (student teaching) hours are calculated and student feedback is recorded. While it is not required to have a certification from a Yoga Alliance school, having such credentials gives you a “leg up” over other applicants that may be going for the same position as you. If an employer sees that you have attended a Yoga Alliance certified program, they will know that you have a great foundation with ample hours of yoga practice and teaching.

Another thing that you will want to consider is the Location of the YTT school. Each area of the world, each country, and even each town has its own unique energy. If the energy of the area is not right for the spiritual practice of yoga, it will be difficult for you to really connect with the ancient practice and feel it really making a difference in your life. So make sure that you consider this when choosing a school. The location should not only be “pretty” but also in an area with spiritual people, not people who choose to partake in partying, or alcohol and meat consumption.

Lastly, the style or lineage of yoga is important. Styles of yoga include, but are not limited to Hatha, Ashtanga, Bikram, Iyengar, Sivananda, Mysore, and Yin. You should research the style of yoga that the yoga school teaches and make sure that it agrees with your mind and body. Try to find a studio in your area where that style of class is offered, to make sure that you like it before completing a full 200 hour course.
